Walking the Walk

Sustainable Business Consulting has established very progressive policies that enable our employees, contractors, and even interns to live and work in a more sustainable fashion. From generous vacation packages and free bus passes, to paid incentives for biking to work, we believe in walking the walk in every aspect of our organization.

Specific Measures:

  • Duplex printing and copying is mandatory
  • Use of only biodegradable and non-toxic cleaners
  • Purchase organic fruits and vegetables, as well as Fair Trade coffees and teas for the office and business meetings
  • Reduce waste by giving employees a reusable mug on their first day of work
  • Biodegradable garbage bags
  • Offset 100% of company carbon emissions each year starting in 2006
  • Free flu shots for every employee
  • Office located in a mixed use (commercial/residential/retail) building and located near major transportation hubs.
  • All desks FSC certified or purchased pre-owned.
  • For employee health reasons walls were painted with non-VOC paint and non-toxic interface carpet was installed in place of existing carpet.
  • Employees given half day Fridays during the summer.
  • Employees are given one ski day per calendar year. (However, snowboarders will be docked vacation)
  • Working Assets used as long distance telephone and credit card provider because of its policy of donating a portion of profits to non-profit organizations.
